About
Jaisalmer is unusual — a twelfth-century fort that people still live inside, cut from sandstone the same colour as the desert around it. The days move between the fort’s Jain temples and lanes, the carved merchant havelis in the town below, the ghats of Gadisar Lake, and, past the last buildings, the open dunes of the Thar. Three nights is enough to see the landmarks without rushing and still be out among the sand for sunset.
