About
A short circuit through the spiritual heart of the Malwa plateau. It centres on Ujjain, one of the oldest continuously lived-in cities in India, where the Mahakaleshwar temple and the Ram Ghat riverfront on the Shipra set the tone. From there the road runs to Omkareshwar, an island shaped like the syllable ‘Om’ in a bend of the Narmada, and finishes in Indore — busy, well-fed, best known for its late-night food streets. Temple towns and a market city across four calm, well-paced days, with the driving handled.
